EyeHANDY – A revolutionary vision testing tool from Danish ISOeyes

Key features

  • Tablet-, PC-, and TV-based test suite with all test types in one place
  • Flexible distance adjustment between 40 cm and 6 meters
  • Logarithmic and weighted vision charts compliant with ISO 8596
  • Option for automatic AI-controlled adjustment of distance and lux values
  • CE/MD-approved and compliant with Danish Health Authority guidelines
  • Developed and tested in Denmark

EyeHANDY is a digital “all-in-one” vision testing tool designed for general practice and healthcare. It includes all mandatory vision tests required in professional practice and complies with the Danish Health Authority’s new guidelines from June 2025, including the LogMAR scale and chart structure. The requirements cover both traditional distance-based vision tests and near vision tests, which have become important due to increasing vision problems, especially among young people, caused by increased screen use.

Distance test module

The basic version of EyeHANDY includes a distance test module with 12 different vision charts, divided into charts for adults, children’s charts, and special charts. Doctors and healthcare professionals can freely adjust the distance between 40 cm and 6 meters, and the tool automatically adjusts the light level (lux values) via AI. A unique add-on feature allows the tablet or PC to detect the distance to the test subject’s eyes using built-in cameras.

Training game module

For children, EyeHANDY includes two educational games that train children to recognize shapes on children’s charts. The games can be played in 22 different languages and prepare children for the actual test.

Near vision test module

The near vision test module offers logarithmic charts for both adults and children, including customized reading charts. Like the distance test module, the distance can be automatically adjusted via camera detection as an add-on feature.

Color vision and other tests

The basic version includes three color vision tests:

  • Duochrome test
  • D-15 Farnsworth color vision test
  • Mosaic screening test

An extended Ishihara color vision test and a contrast test module are available as add-on modules. Additionally, the basic version includes a module for testing refractive errors/astigmatism.
